Mist-nets are soft fine nets used by scientists
to safely capture and release songbirds for bird banding. At KBOs
headquarters at the Willow Wind Community Learning Center and at study
sites throughout the Klamath-Siskiyou Bioregion, school and community
groups are encouraged to participate in a mist-netting and bird banding
demonstration. This unique opportunity allows you observe wild birds
up-close and in-the-hand while interacting with biologists
as they work.
Field trips last approximately 1 hour and
can be scheduled by contacting Ashley
Dayer at (541) 201-0866 for more information. There is no cost
for these field trips. Reservations for Fall 2006 will be taken starting
June 2006. Sign up soon!
