Dick Ashford, MS, KBO Board President
Dick first joined the KBO Board in Spring 2005. He served as Board President from 2007 to 2009, when he was elected as Board Chair of the American Birding Association, a position he held until late 2010. Shortly after completing those duties, he was re-elected as KBO’s President in December 2010.

Harry Fuller, MA
Harry Fuller (pictured here leading a bird walk in his standard brown fedora hat) joined the KBO Board in 2011. Harry graduated from Carleton College, Minnesota with a BA in history, and from Stanford University in California with an MA in communications.

David Krantz, Esq.
David joined KBO in 2010. Growing up in Central Michigan he found an early connection with the outdoors through birds: from puddle ducks in the local marshes to cardinals in grassy pastures and thrushes in forested uplands. These experiences made me stop and take notice of natural systems and their unique habitats.

BJ Matzen

BJ Matzen joined the KBO Board in 2010. A lifelong resident of Oregon, he considers himself a product of Eastern Oregon, even though he was born in Portland. BJ grew up on a ranch in Izee, which is in the valley of the south fork of the John Day River, 50 miles southwest of the city of John Day.

Margaret Widdowson, PhD
Margaret joined the Board when KBO was founded in 2002. Margaret was born and raised in northeast Scotland and developed an early interest in birds and botany while exploring the Caledonian pine forests. She earned her degrees in botany from Aberdeen University and forest ecology from the University of Stirling.
