Ian Ausprey, MS, Research Biologist
As a Research Biologist, Ian is responsible for translating KBO’s research and monitoring datasets into results that inform land management planning.
Ian completed his BA in Environmental Studies at Middlebury College and his MS with Amanda Rodewald at The Ohio State University, where he studied the survivorship and movements of fledgling Northern Cardinals and Acadian Flycatchers within the context of an urbanizing landscape. Prior to graduate school he worked as a field ornithologist for various organizations throughout North and South America. Ian is a North American Banding Council (NABC) certified Trainer, Chair of the NABC evaluation committee and has performed NABC evaluations in the US and Latin America. He first came to KBO in 2005 as a banding intern, returned the following year as the banding field crew leader, and is excited to return in this new role at KBO.
