fln_bio_1Felicity Newell, MS, Research Biologist

Felicity works on coordinating long-term bird monitoring efforts at KBO, and interpreting results from monitoring and applied research projects.

Felicity completed a BS in Biology and English at Chatham College in 2004, and an MS in Natural Resources at Ohio State University in 2010, where she studied effects of forest management for oak regeneration on canopy-nesting songbirds.  Her work in Ohio was part of a cooperative multi-state project studying the declining Cerulean Warbler.  Prior to graduate work, Felicity worked on multiple projects at Powdermill Avian Research Center, including applied research on stream acidification and forest fragmentation, as well as working with their long-term bird banding program.  Felicity has also studied migrant and resident landbirds in Central and South America, work that she hopes to continue in the future.  To contact Felicity by email, please click here.
