The effects of grazing on bird communities may vary dramatically depending on both the habitat and the intensity of grazing.  KBO has studied the effects of grazing on birds in mixed-conifer and oak woodland habitat in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument of southern Oregon.  We also have several ongoing projects that are monitoring private property restoration after cattle were removed from the landscape.
